NEW DOJO VENUE from 1st August 2006

Thorpe Acre Junior School will be our new dojo from the 1st of August 2006 (see training details). The school is next door to Delise RC School and the entrance is off the mini roundabout as your go up to Garendon High School and Burleigh Community College from Epinal Way.

March 2006 grading results

Congratulations to the following for passing their grades. Anvir Cheema (4th Kyu), Nikhil Vedi (5th Kyu), David Edwards (6th Kyu), Phillip Lee (7th Kyu), Jack Edwards (8th Kyu), Khajal Mistry (8th Kyu), Daniel Mitchell (8th Kyu), Louisa Nelmes (8th Kyu), Ash Dasani(10th Kyu).

Club Sponsor Event

On Thursday 18th May 2006 we will be holding the sponsored 20 man and 30 man kumite to raise funds for the club and also the junior GB squad. The Juniors will do 20 fights one after the other, clicker style, and the seniors will do 30 knockdown or clicker fights. After the event we will all go out for a few drinks! Northern Dojos Session

The next northern dojos session will be held on Saturday 13th May 2006 at Chesterfield 12:30 till 4pm. This session will be dedicated to weapon training. Nunchaku, Sai, Tonfa and Knife. Please bring you own weapons if you have any. A few spare ones will be supplied. Sensei will inform students who are eligible to attend over the next few sessions

Club's 3rd year Anniversary

The Clubs anniversary is on 6th May and keeping to tradition we will be holding a kumite and kata tournament with trophies going to the first places. The Award for best student will also be given. The proposed date for this event will be 1st June as there are a number of events happening this month. Please ensure that you are all available as the more the merrier.

National Grading - 1st Kyu

Please note that from immediate effect all 1st Kyu Gradings will now be held at club level (ie from June 2006) and not at National Grading. Full details will be sent to all dojos and Grading Instructors as soon as possible.

Regional Knockdown Tournament

The Regional Knockdown Tournament will be held on 3rd June at Llantristant Leisure Centre, Wales – Entry Forms and poster etc. Have already been sent out. Spectators entry: £7.00 (Adults) £5.00 (under 16) and Family Ticket £19.00 (2 + 2)

BKK Senior Summer Camp 9th - 13th August

This year’s Camp will be from Wednesday, 9th August until after breakfast on Sunday, 13th August. (4 nights) (ages 16 years and over) and by popular demand: Students will be given ample opportunity to participate in dedicated knockdown training sessions. Venue: Kingham Hill School, Kingham, Oxfordshire. Cost of the Camp including all meals, accommodation and the Sayonara Party - Only £175.00! A £50.00 non-refundable deposit secures your place. Junior World Tournament - July 2006 Switzerland

The BKK will be sending a squad to compete at the 1st IFK Junior and Cadet World Tournament held on 8th and 9th of July 2006 in Chur, Switzerland (Actual venue: 7000 Chur, Sennensteinstrasse 33, Dreifachturnhalle der Gewerblichen Berufsschule. ) Doors open Saturday and Sunday at 08.30 a.m. The tournament entrance will be free for spectators. BKK Knockdown Squad Training - 7th May

Shihan David Pickthall will be holding a Knockdown Course/Squad session on 7th May 10.30 to 15.00 hrs – Venue: Crawley Dojo - Visit www.multimap.com and enter postcode “RH10 5HP” – for location and directions. T-Shirts

There are still some t-shirts left. Pleases let Sensei know if want a t-shirt. Also as an incentive the winners (ie) 1st Place, of any national or regional tournament may have a T-shirt FREE.
