Sensei Sunil Tailor

Eighteen years of karate experience. Competed in various karate tournaments for combat and kata both at home and abroad, obtaining a total of 18 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze medals & trophies. Is the current World Kyokushinkai Kata Champion. Also been trained by a number of the top instructors worldwide.

Sunil started his karate at the age of 12. He was a member of Charnwood Kyokushinkai Karate club under chief instructor Sensei Gary Chamberlain, in Loughborough. Sunil entered a number of tournaments in his junior years representing both his club and country on a national level. At the age of 17 he passed his Black belt (1st Dan) in front of Hanshi Steve Arneil. Sunil studied at a London based university where he trained under a number of instructors, Hanshi Steve Arneil, Shihan Roy Banton to name a few. Sunil then stayed at shodan for around 9 years, entering various tournaments before he decided to go for his 2nd DAN Black Belt after winning the First IFK World Tournament in Switzerland. Sunil then transfered dojo to train under Shihan Nick Da Costa at Docklands Dojo in 1999. Sunil still continues entering tournaments of all natures, Clicker, Nihon Shobu, Knockdown and Kata. Moving back to the Midlands, Sunil decided on opening his own dojo, Loughborough Kyokushinkai Karate club in May 2003. He recently attempted for his 3rd DAN Black Belt and was successful. He has also been selected to represent Great Britain again for the 2nd IFK World Tournament in Poland.

Sempai Surju Mistry

Sempai Surju has been training with the club for two years, but has over 7 years of kyokushin karate experience. He has been successful in a number of tournaments during his juniors years. He represented England earlier in the year at clicker style of fighting. He has a rank of 1st Dan Black Belt.
